Jennifer Griffin, BA (Hons), MSc, MA, HDIP, MIAHIP, is Chief Executive Officer of Relationship Care and an accredited psychotherapist, counsellor and executive leader with more than fifteen years’ clinical experience working with individuals and couples across community, private practice and mental health settings.
Alongside her clinical work, Jennifer has held a number of senior leadership and governance roles across mental health, education and regulation. Her expertise includes clinical governance, professional standards, organisational development, safeguarding, regulatory compliance and the development of high-quality relationship and psychotherapy services.
Jennifer is clinically trained in three modalities and currently serves as a Committee Member and MSc Research Coordinator within the Department of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin on the MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy programme, where she contributes to postgraduate education, research coordination and professional training development. She is also currently conducting research in partnership with Research Ireland and Trinity College Dublin.
Jennifer previously served on CORU’s inaugural Registration Board for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, including membership of the subcommittee responsible for developing the Standards of Proficiency for the profession. This work formed part of the first statutory regulation framework for counsellors and psychotherapists in Ireland and focused on public protection, professional competence and regulatory standards.
Her wider professional background includes senior leadership roles within digital health, suicide prevention, higher education and national media organisations including the BBC and RTÉ. Across these sectors, Jennifer has consistently focused on service quality, ethical practice, innovation and public engagement in mental health and relationship wellbeing.
Jennifer holds qualifications from Trinity College Dublin, King’s College London, Dublin City University, Maynooth, The King’s Inns and Queen’s University Canada. She is an accredited member of the ICP and IAHIP and is committed to advancing accessible, evidence-informed relationship and psychotherapy services in Ireland.
